What does this mean for you?
It means you have a say in what happens.
Now keep in mind, you can have your character come across any number of entities already within Haven at any time you wish. There are all types of animals, monsters, and NPCs for your character to encounter, and you do not need permission to just work up a post with any such entities.
So what, then, is the purpose of having a Random Events page?
1. We will have a monthly "news update" for Haven, listing--or rather, reporting--a number of happenings around the city. These mini-events would be optional for players to participate in. The reports would be an IC "FYI" of happenings that your character could encounter. If nothing else, we want these events to serve as prompts for posts and possible CR. Those mini-events will be taken from this page.
2. We want your ideas! The more the better! They can be serious, silly, or somewhere in between. They can affect a certain spot or person, or whole areas of the city. Want your character to be suddenly love struck with their worst enemy for a few days? Request an City Event! Want your character's favorite possession to show up in their room? Request a Character Event! Want a certain monster or creature from your character's home world to show up and wreck some havoc until it can be taken down? Request it!
3. Plot! We welcome player driven plots. You have a plot you want to run concerning the city, or even just a handful of involved characters? Put the details under City Events!
There are two types of event requests you can put here: City Events and Character Events.
City Events
These will be city wide happenings. Or at least things that effect enough of the city that anyone can choose to have their character participate in the event. An example of a City Event would be everyone within a certain area turning blue and glowing for the next 24 hours. Or, for another example, a giant robo-squid appears in the city, and in its search for water, starts tearing the place apart until it's dismantled or retaken by the Miasma. In other words, it can be anything that would effect a large area of the city or a large number of residents.
Character driven plots would also be put under the City Events. The details would just be a little different.
Character Events
These will be happenings that affect only a single character. Is there an item you want for your character? This would be a Character Event. Want your giant robot to end up as a cat for a few days? Character Event.
A few last things to note:
1. Character Events that are approved can be put into effect whenever the player wishes to make a post for it.
2. You are allowed to request a Character Event for someone else's character. However, that character's player will have to agree to it before mods will give approval.
3. City Events suggestions will be kept for reference, and one will be chosen for each monthly update. If we have enough City Event ideas, polls will be held to determine what City Event will be chosen for the month.
4. Plots listed on this page are for te player to move forward. Make sure you're ready to make the necessary posts to keep your plot running through the end.

I will need time to read over the rest to ensure I have no questions that need to be addressed, but this may take a bit as I'm currently out of town with family.
