Since Kismet Loop is a game constantly in flux, every action taken by our players might change a part of the setting. This is the page to check on when this occurs.

Because characters will be building and exploring the surface of Cybertron, we highly recommend you fill in the text area below with any place of significance you find or build and post it to this entry. We will add these to the page, so that other characters can visit them and interact with the game's ever-growing world.

CYBERTRON

The planet on which the game takes place.

Cybertron is a planet significantly larger than Earth, but with comparable gravity and a nitrogen/oxygen atmosphere that humans can easily breathe. The composition of Cybertron is mostly metallic with a wealth of minerals, giving everywhere a rocky appearance that sometimes has a sheen to it. In a comparatively small area around the city, fresh soil can be found, and even various floras have come to thrive on this alien planet.

The sun is distant in the sky. The light and warmth that it provides is comfortable, but even during the day, the surface resembles a perpetual twilight. Over Haven, however, there is a structure in low, fixed orbit known simply as the Sol which helps supplement the light levels and helping support plant life. (See "Central Hub" below for more information.)

As Cybertron turns, slowly, through its 32-hour cycle, both moons are visible in the heavens. There is something else as well. To those on the surface, there looks to be a ring around the planet, something those from other realities of Cybertron will not have seen before. To those able to enter the upper reaches of the atmosphere, they will find that this ring is the remnants of debris from a long past explosion. Whatever it was must have been huge.

Sometimes strange, blue lava erupts from the ground. Some places have a perpetual flow of the hot, glowing liquid, creating a sort of dangerous river. It eventually solidifies into solid energon crystals.

The planet is clearly ancient, and you are not the first ones here. There is evidence of ruins long abandoned, artifacts buried and hidden, or even sitting in an alcove, awaiting discovery. The planet is large. There is much to find.


THE MIASMA
Much of the planet has been overwhelmed with thick black and purple mists. They churn and swirl, almost as if alive, and the sounds that carry from within... Oh the sounds. Shrieks and cries, cracks, thumps, growls, and other sounds of horror drift from deep within the vapors, promising a horrible fate to any who enter.

What happens if you enter the Miasma? Do you really wish to find out?

The Guardians keep it clear of the city for the most part, but the Miasma seems to be coming from the core of the planet. It seeps up through the ground, and even the Guardians cannot keep it all at bay. Literal bubbles form within the city, growing until whatever unseen film holds the mists within bursts, spilling chaos into the streets.

Sometimes these spills are harmless, leaving behind random items or even a new refugee. Other times, they leave behind monsters or other dangers for the residents to deal with. They can even alter a person, though only temporarily, perhaps changing the shy quiet sort into someone more boisterous and rash, or altering someone to an alternate version of themselves. It’s hard to say what might happen when the Miasma bubbles up into the city.

Keep an eye on the News, they do their best to keep all citizens updated on where bubbles have shown up and what they’ve left behind, if at all possible.


HAVEN

The city that has come to be called Haven occupies a dismally small area of this great planet. Perhaps one day, the Miasma will be pushed farther and farther back, and more and more of the planet will be reclaimed for inhabitants to move into. For now, though, the only safe area is within a nearly circular shape about 250 miles in diameter.

About a fifty mile swath of land encircles the actual city. And Haven itself sprawls across the land, some areas more developed than others. At one time, it seems like there were quite a few people here, but no longer. For such a massive place, there are extremely few people present here right now.
